Artist Statement: Steve Ferretti

These framed works are photographs Steve has taken locally and internationally. The background photos have been manipulated and then layered with photos of details from his acrylic and monotype abstract artworks.

Biography:

Steve is an artist based in Richmond, Virginia. The majority of his works are Abstract acrylics, monotype prints, cold wax & oils, and photography. His art is a visual record of personal exploration and growth. He strives to captures transient moments of time, place, mood and thought. Sometimes his intent in beginning an artwork is clearly defined but more often he begins a work blindly and allows intuition to lead to an unexpected solution. Abstraction, to Steve, is a very personal visual expression with the unique ability to connect in a manner individual to each viewer. His work has been exhibited extensively in the Richmond area and beyond. HIs professional background is in environmental design specializing in exhibition planning, design and creative direction.
