Noticeable Pause

Mixed Media Tableaus by Margerie Albertini
October 24 - November 22, 2025
Elisabeth Flynn-Chapman Gallery

Artist Statement: Margerie Albertini

My work investigates femininity, and visibility through assemblages using feminine coded material/objects: doilies, veils, ribbons, and pearls. These ornamental objects become tools for examining gender identity and performance.

I construct fragile yet imposing tableaus where intimacy and distance coexist. Each work an invitation to reconsider the objects/materials as elements in feminist narratives transformed into expressions of strength, resistance, and reclamation, softness and strength, beauty and burden, visibility and erasure.
