Caroline Huggins
In March 2020 we became simultaneously connected and separated. This paradoxical space is the focus of my practice. I observe the familiar, routine, and sometimes intimate, solitary moments and sketch or photograph for reference. The detritus in my own sink, the result of shared or solitary meals, becomes a practical source. Connection through these images is my purpose.
Plein air painting is the backbone of my practice. Being outdoors invigorates my studio work and sharpens my observation for larger relationships.
