Balancing Act @ artspace
Richmond, VA— artspace, is pleased to announce Lelia Pendleton’s “Balancing Act,” performing at Artspace Saturday, December 11th. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Show runs from 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Reception will follow. Admission is $10 at the door.
Lelia Pendleton of Richmond, Virginia, is an actor and mime. “Balancing Act” is an original work made up of pieces inspired by daily life or literature, reflecting the things around her that either restore or threaten her own balance. The characters in these pieces are not all human, but do “speak” of their own balance, from a comfortable and content hound dog to a couple struggling with modern conveniences to a mother making hard choices to, finally, true love. Lelia is a student of the late Tony Montanaro, and is the only professional mime in the Central Virginia area. She has enjoyed performing at venues in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and Maine, including local public schools and parks, the Celebration Barn Theater, the Suzuki Violin Festival, The Greenbrier Resort, the College of William and Mary, and The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
