A NON-PROFIT GALLERY FOR THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
Thanks to everyone who entered the VSPA Member's Exhibition, attended the opening, brought food and bright smiles, and helped work to make the opening a great success. There were over 1,000 people in attendance last evening. A number of photographs were sold. Please be sure to thank our many sponsors when you patronize their places of business.

The Virginia Society for the Photographic Arts invites you to participate in its 2004 Membership Exhibition. VSPA will be celebrating 33 years of presenting the innovations of Virginia photographers and the inauguration of Artspace Gallery's new home (31 East 3rd Street, Richmond, VA 23224) located in Plant Zero in the newly designated historic "Arts District in Manchester."
Eligibility: The exhibition is open to all photographers residing in the Commonwealth of Virginia who are members of VSPA. Membership is available as part of the entry fee for those who are not 2004 VSPA members.
Awards: "Viewers Choice" cash and merchandise awards will be presented at the end of the opening reception. All those attending will receive a ballot to vote for their 3 favorite photographs. The following merchants have agreed to donate prizes: Shooting Star Gallery, Ltd, (Suffolk), Main Art and Frame (Richmond), Fan Photo (Richmond), Camera City (Norfolk), FRAMEWORKstudio (Richmond), PICTURE THIS CUSTOM FRAMING (Richmond), and 49A Gallery of Fine Crafts and Arts (Newport News) is giving an award and a group show to all the winners in this show.
Entry Fee & Presentation: The entry fee is $15.00 for VSPA members whose dues are current. For all others, a $25 fee will include a year's membership in VSPA. Photographers may submit either one or to two pieces. VSPA, however, reserves the right to limit the amount of work to be exhibited based on space imitations. Black and white, color, non-silver, computer-manipulated, etc., images are eligible for this exhibition. Works must be delivered suitably framed, wired and ready for installation. No saw tooth hangars are acceptable. Artspace retains a 33% commission on all photographs sold in this exhibition, so please consider this when pricing your work.
Entry Form: Please provide the following information on an 8 ½ " x 11" sheet of paper accompanying your submission: Name, Address and Zip Code (nine digit), Phone number(s), Email address (if, applicable), Below this information include: Are you are a VSPA member? Amount you are enclosing. Then list the title(s) of work(s), medium, dimensions, date of work, and price(s).
This information should ALSO be attached to a label on the back of each piece submitted.
DELIVERY / PICKUP: For delivery and pick up of photographs work at Artspace see Calendar below.
VSPA and Artspace will not be responsible for works left after pick up dates. If work is shipped it must be received by March 1, 2004. Please be sure to include return postage. Artspace and VSPA will not incur any shipping costs. Artspace will insure all works from receipt on delivery day through the designated pick up date.
ARTIST'S AGREEMENT: Photographs may not be removed before the end of the exhibition. VSPA and Artspace reserve the right to reproduce accepted work for exhibition promotion in both printed and electronic forms. Photographers retain all other rights. Submission to this exhibition constitutes agreement with all conditions of this prospectus.
February 29, 2004: Delivery of photographs to Artspace Gallery, Plant Zero Art Center, Zero E. 4th Street, Richmond, VA 23224, 804.232.6464., 12 - 3 PM. (Work shipped must be received by March 1, 2004).
March 5, 2004: Opening Reception and Viewers' Choice Awards Presentation, 7 - 10 PM.
March 28, 2004: Pickup of work 4 - 6 PM.
