Performance Artist Presents New Book of Poetry
RICHMOND, VA – Artspace Gallery, located at 6 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond, invites the public to a book signing party for author, Cheryl Pallant, for her new book of poetry, "Uncommon Grammar Cloth," on Saturday, February 24 from 3-5pm. The event is free to the public.
"Uncommon Grammar Cloth," is a book of experimental poetic writing. The work reveals an ever shifting present emerging like threads of a fabric in the making. Familiar word patterns transmute suddenly with an associated leap or syntactic twist or a play on sound. Poet Anne Waldman finds the book, "refreshing in its unpredictability." Uncommon Grammar Cloth, published by Station Hill Press, NY, is Ms. Pallant’s first published book.
Cheryl Pallant is a writer, dancer, and performing artist living in Richmond, VA. She teaches in the English and Dance & Choreography Departmetns of Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the Dance Critic for Style Weekly and the Performance Art Guide at About.com. She has had work appear in numerous literary journals throughout the U.S., in England, Australia, and the Czech Republic.
