Cycles of Collapse, choreographed by Starrene Foster, is an exhilarating new work that explores the limitations of social and physical behavior. Performed by Katie Harris, Blake Pearson, Charles Scott, and Starrene Foster, each performer strives to maintain a relationship while struggling for self identity through a whirlwind of obstacles. Cycles of Collapse, set to an original score by One Ring Zero, is a beautiful game of cat and mouse.
Snake in the Grass, also choreographed by Foster, is set to the exotic, big band sounds of the 1960's. Kendall Baltimore, Kelly Eudailey, Matthew Rogers, Blake Pearson, and Katie Harris soar with and around one another, transforming an easy situation to a comical adventure. Snake in the Grass was recently commissioned by the Virginia Repertory Company to be a part of their Fall 2000/Spring 2001 performance series.
Down a Small Road, set to an original score by Manoiseca, looks at life in remote rural communities and explores the depth, pain, and joy of the relationships that flourish. There is a rough edged reality to these simple acts and interactions that makes Down a Small Road universal in its emotional reach. Down a Small Road is choreographed by Shannon Hummel in collaboration with dancers Vanessa Adato and Donna Costello.
